On Saving the Precious Thing for Later
The 20th of May, 2025
Many moons ago, when I was in elementary school, I somehow got my hands on a really nice-looking apple. At the time, I’d have an apple at some point in the day to snack on, but this apple was special, far too pretty to have on some normal day! So, I put this apple away in my desk to save for some better, more fitting day.
That lustrous apple next left my desk rotten and disgusting.
This all happened some 23 years ago, but there is a lesson in this, I think.
Recently, well, a few months ago, I played a game called Disillusion ST. It’s a very interesting game with a super cool art style and introspective dialog that is a real treat to read. During one of the cutscenes, which I wish I could quote directly, it talks about this kind of thing, and it made me recall this event from my own distant past.
Maybe it’s a rudimentary kind of thing to be posting about, but I would like to gently remind my readers not to put off things you are excited for.
Partake in life today; the best time to live is right now.
